My name is Natasha Maclaren-Jones and I’m your Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services in NSW.

That means I’m responsible for you and other young people in care. Something I keep at the front of my mind every day.

I hope that the adults in your life create a home for you where you feel safe and supported. As your minister, I promise to always work hard to help achieve this.

Building and maintaining connections with your friends, family, community, and culture is so important as a young adult. This is the time you will discover who you are and who you want to be.

I want to see you achieve your goals and become the person you want to be. Setting goals and knowing how to achieve them can be challenging, particularly when your life is changing. That’s why it’s so important you know about the support available to you and get involved in preparing for the next exciting steps.

This website is here to help guide you through your time in care, with information about:

  • how to ask your carers and caseworkers important questions about your time in care
  • services and programs you can access, including study scholarships, driving lessons and counselling.

Please don’t be afraid to ask for help and advice when you need it. We are all here to lend a hand.

Warm regards,

Natasha Maclaren-Jones MP
